Terminal Building Update

posted May 1, 2021, 2:17 PM by Los Alamos Avgas   [ updated May 1, 2021, 2:19 PM ]
The Los Alamos Airport Terminal Building will continue to be closed to the public. The County is taking advantage of the terminal building being cleared out to make some improvements by painting the interior and move some of the equipment typically inside of a modular office to a more secure location within the building. This equipment controls the AWOS system and the Runway lighting. This “sprucing up” will continue through May.

Pilots can now access the building to access the restrooms. The usual “Flight Planning” desk and such is still in storage as we await the interior work to be completed.

The work to replace the roof began a week later due to the asbestos remediation. It is anticipated that the work will continue for another couple of weeks, due to some unsettled weather. While the Completion date is June 4, it is anticipated that the work will be completed prior to this date.
