Runway Closure - April 21, 0800 to 1500 (local)

From the Airport Manager, Peter Soderquist:

All,

Be advised that the runway will be closed on Thursday April 21, 2011 from 8:00am  to 3:00pm to displace the threshold of RWY 27 three hundred feet.

Effective 3:00pm on April 21st there will only be 5,250’ of runway available for takeoff and landing.  This situation will remain until the runway is closed (expected to occur on May 31st).  When the runway reopens on June 21st there will be 6,000 feet available.

Please also note, the displaced threshold requires placing the RNAV Out of Service.  The approach will remain OTS until a new one can be “drawn” to the new runway.  We are currently talking to FAA about re-establishing the existing RNAV (to its original location) after the runway opens.   No official word yet on whether or not they will allow this.

Will keep everyone posted.

Peter
