From our airport manager:
As some of you know the recent high winds played havoc on the runway extension. A total of five days were lost. Coupled with a late start in the construction of the retaining wall, the schedule for the runway rehab has to be pushed back. The runway will not close on May 31st as originally planned.
The runway will now close on Friday, June 10 and will reopen on Friday, July 1.
I am sorry for the delay. Several alternatives were discussed but this schedule proved to be the best. Other options required multiple closures. In the end, it was felt the best approach would be to get the job done all at once.
